The state’s most populous parish, and home to two of its largest employers, Jefferson Parish stretches from the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain to the Gulf of Mexico at Grand Isle, making it the business gateway to the region. It owes a great deal of its commercial success to the Mississippi River, which flows through the parish and boasts an exceptional transportation infrastructure including large port operations, major railways, and the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in the City of Kenner.
